2025 EveryBODY Covered Campaign Highlights: Reflecting on a Year of Advocacy Wins

The EveryBODY Covered campaign was launched by the Alliance for Women’s Health and Prevention in February 2024 with a crucial mission:  

• Dispel myths about obesity and share information about its impact on women throughout their lives  
• Empower women of diverse backgrounds to raise their voices in support of expanded coverage  
• Urge the employer and policymaker communities to ensure coverage for the full range of evidence-based obesity care 

As this year comes to a close, EveryBODY Covered is celebrating all we’ve accomplished in support of this mission with the help of our partners and advocates. We are proud to showcase how we’ve worked together to advance obesity care coverage.  

In 2025, the campaign …   

Educated Employers on the Value of Obesity Care

• Published an open letter to top workplaces for women calling on employers to better support obesity care in the workplace, signed by over 65 organizations 
• Developed a resource for employers on how workplaces can prioritize obesity care  
• Drove visibility in prominent national and local media outlets around obesity as a chronic disease, its impact on women and the importance of comprehensive obesity care coverage, including in the Washington Post, the Wall Street Journal, Medical Economics, MedCity News and the New Hampshire Bulletin 

Mobilized Advocates in Support of Coverage

• Grew our network to over 100,000 people committed to obesity care advocacy. These individuals advocated with state and federal policymakers in support of expanded obesity care access, including legislation such as the Treat and Reduce Obesity Act  
• Amassed nearly 40,000 signatures on a petition calling on employers to expand support and coverage for obesity care in the workplace  
• Created resources to raise awareness and drive action, including a guide on navigating obesity care coverage denials and a tool on how to get involved in obesity care coverage advocacy  

Partnered with Leading Health Advocacy Organizations

• Expanded our partner network to 31 national organizations  
• Collaborated with our partners to amplify the importance of obesity care coverage to their networks, including in an Instagram Live with the Black Women’s Health Imperative and a Q&A with the president of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses  

As we look to 2026, we want to express our heartfelt thanks to our partners and advocates who supported this important work. We look forward to continuing our advocacy for coverage of comprehensive obesity care in the new year.
