MedCity FemFWD Podcast Discusses Need for Better Obesity Care Coverage

On a recent episode of MedCity’s FemFwd Podcast, Millicent Gorham, CEO of the Alliance for Women’s Health and Prevention (AWHP), spoke with host Marissa Plescia about the impact of obesity on women, the importance of comprehensive obesity care coverage and the work of the EveryBODY Covered campaign to empower advocates. 

During the discussion, Millicent explained the significant impact that obesity has on women, including physical, social, emotional and financial effects. She also highlighted the goal of the EveryBODY Covered campaign—to ensure access to the full range of obesity treatment options—and emphasized that obesity care should be covered just like care for any other chronic disease.
